  1. I created an mpg from an avi using 2 different programs (Super DVD Creator and AVI2VCD), and the resulting mpgs have no errors that I can see when i play it on my computer.

I then burned a VCD using Nero, and another VCD using SuperDVD creator. Both VCD's have errors, scrambled video. I have never had problems using Nero before, with buring other types of disks. This is my first attempt at burning a VCD.

Is there a way I can check what my result will be before burning? I hate wasting disks!

    First, use a CD-RW

Second, mount the disk image using Nero Image Drive or Daemon Tools

If the mpegs are fine then it's your burning program or burning method or disks or cd writer or DVD player.

You need to troubleshoot. Burn at a slow speed like 8x or less, try some different disks (RW's are good), play your disks on your PC or in another DVD player.

    Good luck.

  4. Thanks, that will limit my troubleshooting at least. So the encoding is ok if the mpg's are ok? Nothing else is done to the actual file before burning, so I have to check my burning options?
