Hey, I'm interested in turning my PC into a video editing God... as close as possible to a professional AVID.
I've learned alot from these forums and I've pretty much come to the following:
-I'll go with Premiere and "capture" DV via firewire.
-I'll get the Sony DVMC-DA2 or the Hollywood DV Bridge to get non-DV sources (ie. VHS, etc.)
-I'll use Win2k or XP to allow files larger than 4gb
-I'll use a dedicated second drive for my media files.
Sound good? What am I missing?
Also, on the software side, what else is there besides Premiere?
Thanks people...
(Oh, and if you dont know what an AVID is, its basically a $freaking$ expensive Mac-based editing computer used by alot of TV shows and films that MUST be able to capture/edit/export high resolution video without long rendering times, and without the loss of quality or dropped frames.)
