  1. Ok,

    I got a new computer recently : AMD athlon XP 2500, 512 ram, 256mb video card...+ 52*32*52 LG Burner)

thing is, when i burn a SVCD with NERO 6, either .bin or .mpg, the end of the SVCD starts getting buggy, glitches, and doesnt even finish the last 2 minutes of the cd when i play it on my DVD player (JVC). i tried nero 5.5 and that didnt' help either. it says it burned successfully but when i play it on my dvd player, the end is just messed and you see blocks, different colors and so on...

I'm sure its not my dvd player because i burn with my old computer (very slow) and it works fine.
also, NERO only tells me that it can burn at 40X, even though its a 52X burner.
Any ideas about this? do you think its my burner that is just messed or is there another factor??

    thank you sooo much.
    Rob

Try burning slower, like 8X or try some different disks.

Is your mpeg-2 file fully SVCD compliant?

  4. Hey,

Yes, my SVCD's are compliant. I tried using Nero 5.5 and at like 24X and still, when i put the cd's in my dvd player, the last 2-3 minutes are glitchy, blocky..the picture freezes, and then stops playing. Am i supposed to be burning at a low speed for SVCD's? Also, why does my computer say that the burner can only burn 40X? even with image files and audio cds?

I think its my burner, but its LG (respectable) and new, could be defective though...dunno

    thanks for the help

Because you only have 40x Media.

  6. 24x is not slow, try lower speed. Bad media can require very low speeds for some players. I have an LG 52/24/52 in one pc, its for sure a bad cd writer, when combined with bad media you should consider 16x to be a high speed.

  7. hey,

hey, i'll try burning at 8X and post what happens. Can someone please explain what this "media" is? you said i have a 40X media, what is that? can it be set to any higher?

    thanks

  8. oh, btw the cds say 1X-48X, i thought the burning should then be at 48, but it still goes to 40X.

    any thoughts?

    thanks

    The media is your disks.
