How can I convert a 751MB 90 minute movie into two mpeg files using Nero?
The simple answer is 'don't'. Nero does some things well, but that is'nt one of them. You are much better off using a standalone encoder like TMPGEnc. You don't say what kind of video, makes all the difference. I assume you want to split it. TMPGEnc can do that with 'cut and merge' as can other programs, depending on the type of file.
Well I'm asking for a friend who is wanting to burn an avi file onto (s)vcd. All what he has is Nero 6.6 and I have no clue how to use Nero (I use cinemacraft sp and tmpgenc). If anyone knows specifically how to do that on Nero or where I might find a guide that would be helpful.
Split the avi in half and run them through Nero one at a time. If you were a good friend you would tell him to use TMPGEnc. Nero's mpeg-2 encoder has to be the shittiest one around.
If it's some form of AVI, probably DIVX, you should be able to split it with Virtualdub, (free) and put it through Nero, if your really want. Guides for that to the left.
Well thanks for the help... I already told him he should get another encoder but he's adamant about using Nero. I was hoping there was a way he could split it using Nero, but I guess I'll tell him to get virtualdub (and try to convince him to get tmpgenc while I'm at it). Thanks again for the help.
