  1. It seems that the brand on the DVD does not mean much. More interesting is the media code. But wich translation for a code ?

    Ricoh : made by ricoh
    Ritek : made by ritek
    MCC : Mitsubishi chemical company
    CMC : ?
    MBI : ?
    ? : ?

    made by ???
    Japan, Taiwan, ... ?
    big company, small company,.. ??
    Reliable ?

    For example I've heard Gigastorage belongs to Riteks and uses the same processes ===> Gigastorage = Ritek ?

    Any information welcome !

    TY = Taiyo Yuden
    MBI = Moser Baer India
    CMC = No clue
    PVC = Pioneer
    MXL = Maxell

    I could go on and on. There are too numerous. Use the DVD Media tab on the left (<----) to help you with codes.

    In the end, you should go less by hearsay and more with what works for YOU.

    Cheers.
