  1. Ok so here's the deal. Yes, I'm a newbie and I see this as the next free music CDs kinda thing. Basically I just got a cable modem about a month ago and I have about 7 divx movies downloaded. I realize that they can be watched on the pc and I have obtained the codec or whatever. This is easy. When the girlfried comes over, she doesn't want to huddle around the pc so I want to play them on my VCD-able DVD player. I got this TMPGEnc prog so as to convert my DivXs to VCDs but I'm stuck now. As it turns out, my "Fast and the Furious" is well over 74 minutes. How can I watch this? Is there a way to put half of the file on one CD and half on the rest? Do I have to settle for my PC monitor? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. In tmpeg click settings, then the advanced tab. Double click source range and set the start and end points you want to convert to. You eill have 2 seperate mpg files, which will be on 2 seperate cd's. Thats the only way you will be able to put it on vcd's.

  3. start over on the left at the top with WHAT IS. you need to make your divx files into vcd's. steps include, encoding then burning, and other inbetween things such as editing. over to the left it explains how to do all this. preferred programs are TMPGEnc to encode and NERO5.5 to burn. but thats my preference. Do the full conversion and then use mpeg tools in tmpenc to cut the movie into two parts, then burn. use the guides found at this site on how to do it.

Don't cut the mpg, that can be just asking for trouble. Use the source range feature PRIOR to encoding. For an example of this see Sefy's Newbie DVD ripping guide ( top guide under DVD ripping section) Look down towards the bottom.
