Browsing through the forums, i always stumble on some advice that states: 'dont burn your dvd to the rim, leave some empty space at the end of the disc'.

For that i conquer, i currently use riteks g03 and i make sure that i dont burn over 4 gigs on the disc; otherwise, based on many previous experiences, i will face some playback problems at the end.

So here is the question: is there any media out there that you can burn to the rim everytime (video & data alike) without having any errors (playback or pixelation)?

  2. I burn Maxell 4x DVD-R disks (the made in Japan ones) all the time.

I am transferring tapes to them, so I want the most space possible. Because of this, I burn at the 4 hour format, the 'LP' on the Panny E50.

I've fit (using flexible record) 4h10min on a single disk several times. I haven't bothered to see if this is 'right to the edge' or not, but it's got to be close.

I've never had problems with these disks, even though the E50 is technically a 1x machine, and these are 4x disks.

    Hope this helps!
