There's a workaround, depending what you're doing. If you're capturing, then .AVI's can get segmented into <4gig chunks..
Othewise, no, you'll have to go to NTFS. Although, I'm pretty sure you can go to NTFS without having to format..
Good luck!! -
thanks for the reply. any help on converting to NTFS from FAT32 would be appreciated.

I did this recently. I suggest you use something like Partition Magic 7.0 or better.
I researched this and actually imaged my OS drive and converted the other drive to make sure it was bootable and that it worked right and BELIEVE IT OR NOT
microsoft said I could convert a FAT32 partition to a NTFS partition and everything would be OK...
....yea...heard that before....so like I said, I was converting basically a backup of my OS drive and low and behold......IT WORKED just like microsoft said it would
I couldn't believe it either!
So once I had my backup drive converted and it worked, I converted my OS drive and life has been good ever since.
FAT32 is suppose to be faster, but I really can't tell a difference and IMO the NTFS drives do not fragment nearly as quickly either. -
Click START->RUN. (Substitute the letter of the hard drive you want to convert). Type this:
Convert X:/FS:NTFS
Click O.K. Shouldn't take more than, oh, half an hour for an 80G hard drive.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
You're quite welcome. Nice when someone reports back on success or failure when given a suggestion. 8)
