I've not had much luck with my capture card since I bought it (Flyview 3000). A lot of software doesn't work at all for me but I get great video results with Virtual VCR. Only problem is that after about 30 seconds of capturing, the audio just disappears. Any suggestions?

Also, should I be using 'Compress Audio' and, if so, which codec?

An afterthought: I'm using the audio built into my board. I have an almost identical PCI audio card. Would I possibly benefit from installing this?

Yes,try your pci audio card and use uncompressed pcm audio, using any compressed audio will result in far more frame drops.

Didn't work. Any other suggestions as I'm about to rip the card out and sell it. I'm thinking my computer isn't fast enough and I just don't have the money to upgrade at the moment. I have an AMD 1.26 GHz and 256MB RAM. Do I have a hope in hell of doing a DVD res capture?

What if I downgraded to Windows 98 (from XP)?

I'm really getting desperate so any suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!

It seems no matter what res I try to capture at my sound drops out after a period of time. I think I've had enough of this capture card. It's more trouble than it's worth. A year of grief trying to get it to work is too much for me.

You obviously have a lot more money than I do, then. Troubleshooting, to me, should be part of owning a computer.

I repair computers and know when a card or device is faulty and will not work with a certain system and i do troubleshoot but not for a year.
