Hello evryone! i'm new to DV, i need help with some conversion / codecs issues. I have several MPEG1 video files
captured on my computer that i'm trying to compress to dviX. The
problem i have is that the dviX file playback isn't smooth (as if
frames were dropped). It's like if i would toggle "pause/play" all
the time during playback. Curiously, at some moments it's OK and then
it comes back a few seconds later... I have tried various types of formats and codecs with no success. I'm really new to all this and i think it's rather confusing...There are lots of parameters which i leave as "default" but i don't really know hot to set them... I'm using Premiere 6 under Windows
XP Pro. My computer is a Athlon 1.8 Gig with 512 Mb of RAM. My video
card is an ATI AIW radeon 32 MB and my soundcard is a M-Audio Delta66.
If anyone could assist me with this issue i would greatly appreciate.

    Regards,

    Phil

Try converting to DivX using VirtualDub or the Gordian Knot package. I've never heard of someone using Premiere to render out to a DivX
