  1. I got a new Cyberdrive 8x +RW drive and it seems to be fine mostly. However, when I use dvdinfopro, some functions just kills the drive (as in the drive loses power/disappears from the ide controller) or crashs winxp.

Examples include bitset with no media in drive, accidentally eject when performing read error test, doing the test on another drive while burning with the writer.

Is this just dvdinfopro or a sign of impending doom/problems with the Cyberdrive?

    Thanks,

    I didn't even know Cyberdrive DVD+RW existed.
    Can it bitset anyway?

  3. I have the same problem with using dvdinfopro to bitset my khypermedia 8x dvd+r/w drive (rebadged cyberdrive). It will lock up the drive when I bitset it w/o media inside. Dvdinfopro sees the drive as benq when bitsetting. Works fine when changing +r to -rom, makes the disc not playable in my standalone when changing +rw to -rom. The rw disc is still playable in my pc-dvdroms tho.

  4. That kind of confirms it's not just my drive. I've email the infopro author and I think the program may have a bug or two(since kprobe does some of the same stuff and is stable).

Now if can only figure out how to write 4x media at 8x since Nero doesn't seem to let me.
