VTS_ END?? (cretits cut; not a happy end)

Hi all, I'm wondering if someone can advice me on this one:
I cut with Chopper XP a bit of begining [in VTS_01_1.VOB] & 4min end credits [in VTS_01_5.VOB] of a movie, and updated the Ifos with IfoEdit v0.96 ["Get VTS sectors"].
Now,
1) PowerDVD plays the main movie only, from VTS_01_1.VOB, but not the menu VTS_01_0.VOB.

Even that cannot be backed up:
2) Nero Recode gives: at 95% analysis: "encountered an error & cannot continue. Failed to open file. The system cannot find the file specified."
DVDShrink (latest, v.3...5) is more acurate: "Failed to open file F:\TITLE\VTS_01_6.VOB. The system cannot find the file specified."

Looks like it's searching for VTS_01_6.VOB file, which does not exist. If I put a proprietary VTS_01_6.VOB, then it searches for VTS_01_7.VOB file. (same error message Failed to open _7.VOB)

So, how to specify a movie's end?
Any idea how to get to show the menu which is in the VTS_01_0.VOB??
OR, how to back up after credits cut with Menu intact easier??
(have read 2COOL's IfoEdit guides, but am not yet up to that level)

Quick Reference:
Action: cut parts of : VTS_01_1.VOB & VTS_01_5.VOB, 1st & last VOBs on Main Movie. Get VTS sectors, IfoEdit.
Problems: Menu (VTS_01_0.VOB) does not play. In Analyzing DVD structure it searches for end .VOB file which does not exists: last vob is _5, it searches for _6.
how to specify a movie's end & how to get showing the menu back (VTS_01_0).

ok, since this interests someone(s) else, here is what I found:

menu not playing problem:
Menus are lost after IFOedit, so I sacrificed the menu.

main movie end problem.
took a 8MB blank .VOB. named it VTS_01_6.VOB. deleted all IFOs & .BUPs.
Reconstituted IFOs (& BUPs) with IFOedit> "Create IFOs". then >"Get VTS sectors". Back up: Nero Recode, "Whole DVD" & DVDshrink only work. ( works for recording, but resulting dvd did Not play when recorded with: IC8, N Recode: Reauthhor DVD mode)

if someone knows a better way, particularly one preserving the menu(s), please, come forth.
