  1. Downloaded a rip from the internet..shrek. its an avi file. But when I try to use video cd creator it says it needs a mpeg encoder. tryed avitovcd encoder but it said the file was compressed.tmpgenc says unacceptable in most the fields. I must be missing something or doing something wrong any ideas? By the way its one file 701 meg long

  2. Maybe it's in DiVX format. Can you play the movie on your PC? If you can't, then you don't have to DiVX codec installed. Install it, then follow the guide to convert DiVX to VCD.

  3. Tried that said not supported. It has an avi extenstion . It plays on real player 8 since i added divx codex. But still cant convert

  5. try useing the other program that came with avitovcd called "decompress" that will decompress the audio which is what avitovcd is moaning at then use avitovcd to convert it to a mpeg i tick film when i use that prog pal always gives me a unknown file then u need to cut the file in half theres a few progs that can do this i use mediawares myflix to do it just chop it in half or whatever szes u want then use ez cds video cd option to burn it oh and a word of warning avitovcd is not a quick program to use its best to get it started then go afk for a day and a half lol

  6. Where can you find mediaware to cut the large .avi file in 1/2 ? my .avi file is about 1.8gb after decompress using avi2vcd

  7. I just want to say,where the hell are u guys getting these huge .avi files? Hell,I have shrek at a small 200MB Divx phile with great picture.

  8. I haven't gotten a Divx movie file less than 600 Megs in size that was worth a crap. A good picture isn't worth anything if the audio is center channel only... For me its only $3 to go to blockbuster and get true DVD quality, otherwise it ain't worth it (at least under 600 Megs in size it ain't)

    DOWNLOAD divx402 codec AND PANASONIC MPG1 ENCODER AT
    (LOOK for panasonic encoder under tools)
    install it
    reboot ...
    and try again !
    u may also use PANASONIC to make VCD READY file ... but it will take hours and hours ....
