    Use your own personal website to upload...I don't think Baldrick wants to get a call from Lucas' attorneys.

    small samples are no big deal, as I have a samples thread just for this and
    other reasons too - - 10 secs or 1 minute is fine.

    Star Wars or whatever movie is fine too. Sky is the limit.

    I'm actually doing some nice looking:
    * CVD's (352x480).(audio: 192k).(CQ: 8000x2500x74q)
    ..these last few days, and as a matter of fact, I'm proud of them too :P

    Some Links:
    You can see small sample clips I make from time to time over here:
    * VHELP's Sample clips...

    The Star Wars thread (two years and still going) is here (latest topic) ->
    * page 01 - Star Wars conversions..
    .
    .
    * page 23 - Star Wars conversions..

    I'm confused. Is this Leeds thing some kind of sport that was played or mentioned in Star Wars: A New Hope? It's not? Hmm. Maybe it's something to do with DVD authoring... what's that? Oh, I see. Nothing to do with DVD authoring, either. Wait! I've got it! It's some technical term related to AC3 audio! Yeah, that's got to... still not it, eh? Damn...

    My ancestor came from Leeds (well, Wortley, which I hear is near there). Came over to the USA around 1850 as part of the great Mormon migration.

    Who are you trying to kid! The only source for AC-3 is the Special Edition Laserdiscs and those discs have been put on bootleg DVD's for quite a while now! On top of buying a bootleg DVD you are now trying to take credit for the transfer from LD to DVD! How Pathetic!

    maybe he is saying he converted the signal from a LD optical out and reauthored the AC-3. possible, right?

    edit - oh yeah, and I have to say in this particular situation, Lucas' determination to bury the original theatrical cut proves that he is more obsessed with visual effects than filmmaking. what's a fan supposed to do when the only option is bootleg?

    Han shoots first!

    AXIOM 1: George Lucas is a poof.
    AXIOM 2: Soccer is for poofs.
    LOGICAL DEDUCTION: George Lucas likes soccer

  16. @fslove: Could it not be that he just captured the audio of the video tape to wav then converted it to 2-ch AC3?

    I think pathetic would be your post bashing a guy that was happy with his new conversion.

    I don't think you even read what he wrote before replying.

    Everything I do is AC3 ... Dolby Digital 2/0 stereo AC3 audio ...

    Besweet, SoftEncode, DVDit! PE or the APEX DRX-9000 depending on what it is.

    I've never had trouble with BeSweet (well, except on other people's Pioneer DV-333 players ... not my problem ... and then that faulty install I had once). Use 256k or 384k bitrates. Using AC3ENC.DLL for it.

    SoftEncode mostly sucks, DVDit! PE takes forever in a day. BeSweet VERY fast, and sounds quite good.

    Hey lordsmurf, you always say that SoftEncode sucks. I'm just curious about what specifically sucks about it because I have it and I don't know if I should use it or not. I just bought a new Pioneer DVD player so I'm a little iffy on using BeSweet.

    Yeh , well , I have a DV 333
    so I do MP2
    I wonder what's wrong with Besweet AC3 .
    Somebody ought to work on it .
    Quote Quote
  23. Hey F00, I too have the DV-333 and I could never get Besweet to encode ac3 properly so I now use the AC3 encoder that comes with Scenearist and I haven't had any problem with that one.

    But I agree with you someone that can code should take a look at Besweet AC3 encoding so it might do the job as it should.

  24. What I did was capture the tape into vdub and saved the wave file. I opened it in nero wave editor and saved it as ac3.

    The audio quality is often corrupted. It can add noise.
    And it takes FFFFFOOOORRRREEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRRRR.

    I only use it if I want 5.1 and cross my fingers it does not cause damage, and then lots of patience on my part.
