    I have a couple of avi files on my computer but some of them have a really small screen size. is there any way i convert these to 16:9 or full screen without distorting it or losing resolution.

    You can increase the size, but you cannot change the aspect ratio, without distorting the video.
    VirtualDub does what you want.
