  1. I was talking to somebody who runs a DVD authoring co. awhile ago and he said that they use Matsui DVD-Rs. He claims they are the highest quality you can get at like $4/disc...I can't find them anywhere...anyone heard of these?...or does this guy not know what he is talking about at all?

  2. FYI, it's Mitsui, not Matsui, or Mitsui Advanced Media (MAM). It currently has two factories, one in the US (MAM-A) and the other in France (MAM-E). See the following link to its online shop:

Mitsui's CD-Rs are highly regarded but their DVD-Rs are of questionable quality and most DVD burners don't seem to support them well:

If you want to blow $4.99 per disc to try out their DVD-R, then that's your choice.

  3. Here we go again, another discussion about opinions on media.

I for one have never had a problem with Mitsui CDR or DVD media. In my opinion they are one of the best. They are expensive though.
Just do a search and you will find them.

  4. Couldn't find them because he was obviously saying it wrong -- I wasn't sure cause I'd never heard of them (only heard of Mitsumi)...I'll check them out, but I think I'll just stick with Riteks for now...

  5. I am using MITSUI Chemicals inc. DVD-R's 4x (MAM). I dont have any problems with them and they are around €1,15 (+-$1,40).

    I burn them with a Sony 500A
