Will DVD Shrink allow me to remove an extra feature or two, but still allow me to keep the main menu on a back-up? I'm thinking of switching to this program, but would like to know if this is possible before I start reconfiguring my computer. Thank You!

Oh, yes you can BUT...
literally the answer is no. but you can do a backup in Shrink and have fully functional original menus...but either without any extras or with reduced quality extras (all of them, not some). but you stated you wanted the menus WITH SOME extras. That shrink cannot do.Will DVD Shrink allow me to remove an extra feature or two, but still allow me to keep the main menu on a back-up? -
Thanks, guys. Does that mean that you can back-up just the main movie & menu, removing all the extras? Thanks.

Is this foolproof? I mean, 100% guaranteed? So, from what I read, the movie starts first and not the menu?Originally Posted by noki

Foolproof? 100% guaranteed? hell NO. i have no control over how you might interpret my guide, what media you use, what state your hardware is in, how you use your software, what settop you use, and on and on.Is this foolproof? I mean, 100% guaranteed? So, from what I read, the movie starts first and not the menu?
to answer your last question...yes.
NOTE: I have used my guide sucessfully on ALL my backups that i felt needed the original menus and chapter points. -
very true...have done this myself on many occassions. but beware that some dvds have a huge amount of data in the EXTRAS folder; i have witnessed 1.7G worth of extras. even with the entire EXTRAS folder set to still pictures AND all the associated audio files unchecked it added almost 500 megs to the dvdr project (which BTW resulted in an extra 10% compression of the main movie). in this case this method is not as desirable as my guide (which i eventually used to compile the dvdr). You can do the next best thing. In dvdshrink , chose the titles that you want gone, and click the tab for compression choose "still picture"
