Well I have this problem:
I author my dvd from a divx with tmpgenc,ac3fix,ifoedit,nero
Well the problem is that all my dvd's work on my yamada home cinema dvd-player without a problem.
When I try them in a lifetec the sound is not in syncro with the picture.
The weirdest of al is that I have finding nemo in divx and converted it to a dvd and that movie played normal.
Does this anything to do that the lifectec doesn't support ntsc movies?
because finding nemo was in 25fps and burned it with pal.
Does this has anything to do with it?
Or has it to do with the sound?
Like finding nemo was mp3 sound and the other movies was ac3.
If it has to with the fps?
Can't I just convert a movie with 23.9fps with tmpgenc as a pal standard?
I hope someone is possible to help me?

Sounds as though you are using downloaded ripped movies....
Watch for the big foot in the sky to come down on this................ -
Basically what mickle is saying (or asking) is "Are these divx movies being downloaded from the internet?"

Nope. You either encode it as NTSC DVD, and hope your player handles NTSC DVD, or you do frame rate conversion, which involves changing the frame rate (to 25 fps), then adjusting the audio to make it correspondingly shorter. Can't I just convert a movie with 23.9fps with tmpgenc as a pal standard?
And guys: Let the mods police this place. They are very good at it. If you feel someone is endangering this site, report it in the correct forum. (Well look at me - now I'm policing it myself!) Well, well. Innocent until proven guilty - does that ring any bells?
Even if the answer to this is yes, there's nothing illegal or against forum rules in this per se."Are these divx movies being downloaded from the internet?"

Just to comment on mats.hogberg's statement ...
Warez includes downloaded copyrighted movies
and the discussion of such media advocates warez
so you are likely to be sanctioned if we think you do not hold fair
use rights (ie. you do not own the original media.)
In this case the movie in question (Nemo)
has been released to the public and I can't assume that the
divix version was anything but self made from an owned copy.
Mods have the discretion to make any reasonable decisions
in grey areas. -
So, If I own Finding Nemo on DVD or VHS and (for whatever reason) I download Finding Nemo from some P2P network or site, let's say in DivX or other digital format, this is still within "Fair Use", right? You narrow it down to "self made", but is that necessarily so?

No. AFAIK fair Use applies to ownership through legal purchase. You might own STAR WARS 345 on VHS and then like to claim the right to copy the DVD (when it ever gets released) but that is not fair use.I download Finding Nemo from some P2P network or site, let's say in DivX or other digital format, this is still within "Fair Use", right?
I just made a judgement. I'd hate to have to kill any thread thatYou narrow it down to "self made", but is that necessarily so?
mentioned the word Divix
There are plenty of people using
Divix to legally use on their mp4 players etc. -
Some of you people crack me up about these downloaded movies. Everyone knows you all get at least half of your movies off of the internet.

I think you'd be surprised about how many "you people" don't steal, ha ha.Some of you people crack me up about these downloaded movies. Everyone knows you all get at least half of your movies off of the internet.

Why is it that so many people think that everyone who uses this site does so to learn how to back up DVD's and convert downloaded movies. You ever heard of the camcorder.Originally Posted by cooljoe666

I for one, can honestly say that I have never downloaded a movie off the net. I mainly author dvd's from home movie footage, either for myself or for my friends.Originally Posted by cooljoe666
