  1. I'm trying to burn a movie to an SVCD. It's in .avi format, then i use TMPGEnc to change it to .mpg, and then i burn it through Nero. When i try to play i on my DVD player, it keeps scrolling down the screen, it doesn't stay center, like bad tracking on a VHS tape. What's going on here? It only happens to some of them, because the other ones i burn work.

  2. Anybody? I'm totally confused on how to fix this. Could it be the fps?

Have you tried watching the mpg on your computer before you burn it and does it look good then?

  5. The movie looks fine on the computer, but it plays weird like that on the DVD player. This movie has good audio, so i don't need to extract it for TMPGEnc. The fps of the .avi is 25, so i choose PAL when i use TMPGEnc. TMPGEnc automatically chooses these settings after judging the field order: Interlaced, Bottom Field first, Aspect Ratio 4:3 625 line (PAL 704x576). And then i choose these optional settings: Highest quality motion source precision, Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio), and i choose a source range to fit it on 2 CDs.

wuold you believe that 704/576 is not a svcd resolution?

  7. So should i just encode it in a different size? Do you think that would work?

From what he wrote, I don't think that is his encoded resolution - I think TMPGEnc is saying that on the Advanced tab, under Source Aspect Ratio - i.e. 4:3 625 line (PAL, 704x576), 1:1 VGA, 16:9 525 line (NTSC), etc...

What is the resolution of your encoded SVCD? 480x576?

Will your DVD player play SVCDs for sure? Are you in PAL land, or NTSC? Maybe if you are in NTSC your DVD player has a problems playing PAL...

  9. Yeah, it might be that it's PAL. I think i'll try converting it to NTSC, even thought it's a lot of work I also have another quick question. When i try to encode this other movie i have, it says "Warning: Nothing to output bframe decoder lag". This is a NTSC movie w/ 24 fps. I read in other threads that it's because my movie's corrupt, but i ran it through VDub and it said there aren't any errors. Do you know what's up?
