Hi
I followed the guide at
http://www.donstevenson.net/myguides/myguides.html
but instead of the ac3machine I used BeSweetv1.5b25. I have even tried the Bitrate Calculator to get the right size. All the encoding goes great. But when I add the files too a authoring program (TMPGEnc DVD Author) it gives me the error:
The combined bitrate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a standard DVD. The current bitrate is video 9800kbps, audio 384kbps, combined 10184kbps. The combined video and audio bitrate can be no more than 9.848mbps(9848kbps).
This error comes up every time. I have tried to change the average bitrate but always had the max bitrate at 8000kbps, this in CCE. I have also tried diffrent bitrates in the audio, but no go. Any thoughts of what I´m doing wrong?

I would just double check to make sure that you max bitrate setting is no higher than 9300. Hdn't used DVD Auhtor in sometime, but I thought you could choose to "IGNORE" that warning message and make the dvd anyway.

In CCE, do you check the 'DVD compliant' box. If you do, I believe this sets the MAX bitrate field in the mpeg header to 9.8Mbps. This is what TmpGenc DVD Author looks at. It is not necessarily the actual bitrate of the mpeg. Check the mpeg with bitrate viewer. If you max bitrate is below 9Mbps, ignor the warning. If it is between 9 and 9.8, it is almost certainly safe to ignore the warning, if it is above 9.8, re-encode to a lower bitrate.Originally Posted by canonjon

Thanks for the replies.
And yes I had check the 'DVD compliant' box, I will test without it and also run the bitrate viewer to check the bitrate.
