or,
worst post title ever!I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -
Well I'll be damned, it does. Maybe this is a "feature" of QuickTime 6.5?

Me too. I've just noticed this since Jan 3rd. That's when my relatives came back from philippines and they brought about 34 VCDs of karaoke, movies, etc......
Philippines, oh man, they're so popular with VCDs. -
timmychuck who cares?!?!? i mean honestly why do you even read mac forum posts you retard? so you're one of the bazillion pc users that sticks with the flock because you dont know any better.. are we supposed to feel sorry for you or ENVY you? what purpose did your worthless post serve? probably about as much purpose as your worthless pc

Bilestyle, grow up, chill out & f**k off. If this guy is looking in the Mac forum perhaps he is just keeping an open mind instead of behaving like a mindless knee-jerking retard.
Personally, even though I don't have a Linux distro currently installed on my PC (no Mac either), I still like to keep up to date on what's new. Which is also why I'm here. You want to talk about slavish devotion, boy you oughta know.

Only VCDs that are authored a certain way will open in QT. There has to be a .mov file in the main directory; you can't just go to the MPEGAV folder and open one of the .DAT files. I'm sticking with VLC.
BTW, you can use the EyeTV software to view VCDs (and SVCDs with the QT MPEG-2 decoder, if recall correctly) whether or not you have an EyeTV.
Edit: I guess it does work with some VCDs by opening .DATs in the MPEGAV folder. Didn't want to work with my commercial Back To The Future discs or a Something About Mary backup. Strange. -
The first VCD I opened in QT6.5 was a VCD I recorded on my Terapin VCD recorder. It ain't be got no .mov file on it. It worked fine.
