  1. Why won't the DVD-R i copied not play in my DVD player when one i borrowed off a friend will. The copy i did will play in another DVD player i have. I have used verbatum & Packard Bell blank DVD's.

    Can anybody help me or explain what i am doing wrong?

    DVD player JVC XV-S42 which should play DVD-R

    DVD writer Toshiba SD-R5002

    Could be one of two things. First is bad media, which sounds like it. Get some QUALITY Ritek G04's (www.rima.com). It could also be that your player is picky because of the bad media. When you go to Rima, you can get a sample pack. Give them a try. Hope that Helps.

    That, or it could be that your players are picky. I use various media, and only a few of them will play on all of my stand alone DVD players. Given, my players are old (one of first to come out), but still. They could just be finickey.
