Can anyone tell me how I can edit the menue of a DVD I recorded on my Philips DVD recorder without extracting the VOB files to my hard drive?
In other words, how do I edit my DVD-VR disc? I have tried using Roxio Easy DVD creator - typical of Roxio, it doesn't work. I have also tried using Ulead Movie Factory. Hey, this worked until I installed the upgrade patch. Now it will not allow editing of DVD-VR unless the entire disc is copied to hard drive. (Will not allow AC3 support!!!!)
How dumb are these guys, I don't know of any DVD recorders that do not use AC3 audio. So why offer DVD-VR editing if the software will not encode AC3 anyway??? It's like saying "Hey, here is a car. By the way, there is no petrol"
I have searched everywhere, I cannot find anything that will work. All I want to do is to add a nice menu. I don't want to edit the movie. Yet all the software I have tried tries to get me to extract DVD VOB files to hard drive so that the audio can be converted. For crying in a bucket, I don't want to change the audio, or the movie, cut, delete etc!!!! I just want to add a menue to a DVD+ RW disc that already has a movie recorded on it. This can't be that difficult.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi. No, I tried but the patch remains effective and forces conversion. I.e., you cannot edit an AC3 containing DVD+VR disc.
I even re-foramtted my "C" drive and reinstalled windows, then tried reinstalling the older version......can you believe it, it still won't work. I don't know why, it should. I think the patch has altered my original software (It was downloaded via Ulead site and saved to disc). That is how desperate I am to get this simple piece of software to work.
Software programmers amaze me. It is quite clear having spent months reading forums, trying different software etc - exactly what the market wants. But can these people deliver? Not a sausage - they come out with bundles of software- none of which really provide a complete fix. Ulead have confused the market completely by offering so many different software packages, you have to spend hours figuring out which combo u need to get anything done.
Frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
