Hello all ,
I intend to buy a new Hard drive which will be dedicated for analog capturing.
Which to prefer, IDE drive or SATA ?
Any known issues with capturing into SATA drives (for better or worse ) ?
Thanks ,
Prism.

Performance-wise they are about the same. The hard disk's physical speed, and file-system fragmentation will be you major concerns.
The only drawback with IDE is if you have two drives on the same channel, they MAY impact each other's performance, particularly if one is a CD/DVD drive, though with two hard drives there should be no issues.
If your system supports SATA, then you are probably better off buying a SATA drive for future compatibility - SATA is the next generation disk controller after IDE. -
Drive rotation should be 7200rpm minimum, UltraATA100 or 133. Get the biggest you can lay your hands on. SATA would be great and all new mobos feature the connection but the drives themselves are thin on the ground at the moment anywhere.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
