evening.
got into a debate with one of my (beyatch) buddies this evening.
could anyone shed some light on what the first US Consumer DVD Recorder was?
my stance is that it was the Panasonic E20 back in Sept-Oct 2001.
.peace.

Before the E20 there was the E10 but I think the E10 only recorded to DVD-RAM making the E20 the first Panny to do plain DVD-ROriginally Posted by raindv
I'm not positive myself but I think it was also the E20 which was first amoung consumer DVD recorders.

From what I have read it was the Panasonic DMR-E10 in Sept. 2000 at $3,999.

True, but just because the E10 only recorded to DVD-RAM doesn't disqualify it as a DVD recorder... unless you don't consider DVD-RAM a DVD.Originally Posted by FulciLives
