  1. I know there have been many complaints etc about memorex -r's, but I bought a pack and made 2 successful burns. This is my first day with the burner Panasonic E50s. Now since they work and look good, should I not worry? Is the big beef that they cant burn properly and fail, or do I need to worry about the disks going bad AFTER they are burned and working [in the ps2 no less].

Would I be better with Sony DVD-Rs and/or Maxell DVD-Rs?

    Thanks

from wut i've heard memorex started making bad discs fairly recently. bad = not compatible with a lot of players. for the best dvd-r's order them online, a lot cheaper also.

    hope this helps, josh

  3. The Memorex I bought would not work at all in both my Sony or Pioneer burner however they did work in the Panasonic E50 recorder so I was able to use most of them. BTW the E50 just loves the cheap CompUSA brand 1X DVD-R which also burns at 2X in my Sony DRU-500ax burner. I believe the normal price for this media is like $40 for 50 discs and less at times when on sale.

  4. Bottom line, if it continues to work with perfect results, and plays on all the DVD players I own, it's no problem right? Or should I worry about other effects?

    Thanks

If they work on other players I wouldn't worry. The only think I believe we all have to worry about is how long does DVDR media actually last.

  6. Any idea on which last longer or is it an "unknown" at this point?

  7. I think it's an "unknown" at this point. I have discs I burned about eight months ago and they still play just fine however some here say that some of their discs have become un-readable over time. Maybe it has a lot to do with storage. I keep my discs in binders in a dry and dark closet plus here in Reno, Nevada the humidity is always very low so perhaps that helps.

  8. For what it's worth, Memorex DVD-RW's are flakey on both my Toshiba DVD player and on my Xbox (movies & games). I may insert it maybe 4 times and get 'unreadable disc' before I finally get a good read. Never had this problem with other brands.
