Hi everyone, first-time caller.
I'm trying to transcode some SVCDs over to DVD, and I'm running into problems. The files are muxed, 480x480, 23.97fps, and I will be using DVD Studio Pro 2.0.4 to create the actual discs.
Now, splitting and converting the sound out is no problem, however, I cannot seem to get ffmpegx to output a m2v file that 1) DVDSP2 will accept, and 2) retain a good bit of the original image quality. Anyone have any hints/suggestions on how to achieve the best quality and still be DVDSP-legal?
Thanks in advance,
dg.

GuestThanks Major, I'll give that option a try. I had tried the DVD hi-bitrate preset before, but hopefully adding the Closed GOP option will do the trick.Originally Posted by major

GuestThanks for your replies, Major. I've now tried all of that, and it still won't import into DVDSP2.0 properly. Used DVD Hi-bitrate, 3:2 enabled, mplayer decode enabled (Quicktime killed picture quality), and Closed GOP enabled. I haven't tried ffmpeg's internal encode engine yet. Kinda frustrating when the encode takes 6 hours and then refuses to work.Originally Posted by major

Any other suggestions?
