It should be a simple swap. Just be sure to reconnect all of your equipment to the new power supply. You can never have too much power.

It probably matters more on the quality of the power supply. I have a good quality 300W PS and I have a DVD burner, CD burner, DVD rom, zip drive, 4 HD's and 4 case fans and the PS runs cool. Quality VS Quanity is sometimes more important. Also the rating of the cheaper 400-500W PS's are a little suspicious. Simple way to check your PS is to feel the heat coming off the PS fan; If it is very warm even on light loads, you have a problem. If it is hot under heavy loads, it will fail early. If I really had to make a recommendation, I would say about 400W, name brand PS.

  5. My power supply is 350W (from recollection) Antec as well I think, came with my cheiftec case.

I have 6 case fans, 5 Hard drives, CD Burner, DVD Burner, Powered internal Card Reader/USB/Firewire device, floppy drive, zip drive and Soundblaster Audigy platinum. All powered with this supply.

No problems so far. I have thought about getting a heftier power supply, but this one seems to be working just fine.

Heh, I've got an Antec True550 power supply in my video box. I highly recommend the Antec True-series power supplies as they have voltages on different rails. Very nice feature. I'm powering a power hungry motherboard and CPUs, 7 hard drives (2 are 15krpm SCSI drives), 10 80mm fans, 2 DVD burners, 1 DVD-ROM, a DigitalDoc5, a GameTheaterXP 7.1 sound card, a non-functioning powered graphics card (the new one I'm troubleshooting), and a few USB powered devices. I was thinking of plugging the monitor into it as well but there's really no need for that
