Hey,
I got a spindle philips 1-4x dvd+r and a philips dvdrw228 2.4x speed. I got a wierd error on 3 of the 8 disc in the spindle used. I get the impression that some disc are only writeable with 4x speed. Which i don't have. To make this theory stick i need to check at which speed i should write a particular dvd+r. I don't think it is the stuff i burn or programs cause if i place another dvd+r in the writer after i miss burned a dvd+r it will work fine.
Anybody got a idea how i could check the minimal write speed of the disc. Cause if they are 4 speed minimal i want a refund of my money.

Download DVDInfoPro (free for the contains-advertisements version, donation for advertisement-free version). Run it and see if there is anything other than a 4X write strategy on the disk(s).

where would i see what the minimal write speed for my empty dvd+r is? I can see media speed on my miss burned dvd+r and it is 2.4x but i read it was calculated from information on the disc. And this information can't be writen with more then 2.4x speed.
Greatings,
