    I got a movie that is encoded at 1000 kbps... like to reconvert / reduce the bit-rate to fit it into a vcd... any good software to do so?
    What's the bit-rate of a typical vcd

    VCD standard is 1150kbps MPEG-1 with a 224kbps MP2 audio track. Resolution is 352x240 for NTSC with a frame rate of either 23.976fps or 29.970fps whereas PAL is 352x288 with a 25.000fps framrate.

    Probably the easiest program to use to convert a video file to VCD standard is TMPGEnc
