  2. http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk sell Prodisc.

I have used them before in their e-Proformance (sic) guise, and they were excellent.

No good on NEC writers, though.

  3. I'm about 15 disks into a 50 pack of Inkjet printables. So far no problems. They burn fine at 2x in my 106 and 1x in my Toshiba 5002. Also they print all the way to the hub if your looking for that.

  4. Are the ProDisc DVD-R's that supermediastore.com the same as "Princo" discs?

    http://www.supermediastore.com/linkyo-2xdvdr-white-inkjet.html

I bought a 25-pack and so far they're working out well with my Panasonic E80H. But, I've read a couple of posts on the forum mentioning "Prodisc, a.k.a. Princo". Are the Prodisc and Princo brands really one and the same??

My concern is about longevity. I've been reading many posts about Princo's, specifically how they tend to fail to read after six months to a year, and I'm hoping that these ProDisc's aren't esentially the same thing as Princo's.

Anyone have some knowledge about these Prodisc's? Thanks.

  5. Prodisc are a seperate company to Princo TTBOMK and do not share a common plant.

My experience suggests the two should not be confused !!

  6. Prodisc is a totally different company from Princo. Not like Princo, Prodisc company has very good reputation on product quality in cd/dvd media industry. It has many other brands that are eproformance, smartbuy, prodisc etc.

  7. Update on my Printable Prodisc's. About 20-25 disks into a 50 spindle I have started to get Read errors. The disks burn fine but when I do a Speed Test in DVDInfoPro the pattern gets erratic after about 1G and some are unreadable completely after 3.5G. After physically examining both good and bad disks I noticed that the bad disk is slightly warped when you lie it on a flat surface. Anyone know if this could be the problem. I will do a bit more testing but as of now I am quite disappointed in these disks.

  8. Okay, Another update.

Checked some of the first ones burned and they have a similar pattern in DVDInfoPro but no read errors. I called supermedia.com and they gave me an RMA so I can return the unused along with the resent coasters. I went ahead and ordered some 4x BeAll's from Meritline with there 100% return guarantee. I want to have some "Print to Hub" on hand and would like to have more options than just Ritek. If I see any errors they will be going right back

I tried the Meritline Certified 1x-4x Beall DVD-R discs with a NEC ND-1300A and out of a 25 pack about 10 or so had read errors (using DVDInfoPro) starting at approximately the 4.2GB mark on through to the end. Not every block though from 4.2GB til the end were unreadable and on a stand alone DVD player only 1 of the 25 discs had playback problems (I tossed the disc). I would try to keep your final size down around 4200MB to 4250MB otherwise you get too close to the 4.2GB mark and thus get READ ERRORS. Ironically the first 5 in the batch were OK but the next 10 had this problem and then I started shooting for 4200MB size and then I had no READ ERRORS.

Since I've pretty much been sticking with the 4x DVD-R discs made by FUJI which can be bought at some retail stores (like BEST BUY) in 10-packs. These are Taiyo-Yuden media and I've burned one up to 4.3GB and no read errors. I went through 20 recently and ran ALL of them through DVDInfoPro and NONE had read errors. In a pinch I also bought a 5 pack of TDK 2x DVD-R discs. They said MADE IN JAPAN and of the 3 I burned so far all have been close to being full and all have had ZERO READ ERRORS.

Expensive yes but not having READ ERRORS is a wonderfull thing.

The FUJI 10-packs (which come in full sized CD style jewel cases) mentioned before say MADE IN JAPAN and are 4x Taiyo-Yuden discs. Beware the other larger cake packs from FUJI. They say MADE IN TAIWAN and are not made by Taiyo-Yuden.

    I haven't tried this yet but RIMA.COM has 4x DVD-R Taiyo-Yuden unbranded discs for 50 @ $1.80 or 100 @ $1.68

Either way this is cheaper than the FUJI 10-pack which is $25.00 (or $2.50 each).

The only thing (for now) keeping me from buying the Taiyo-Yuden discs from RIMA is I never seem to have $168.00 at one time

    P.S.
RIMA.COM also has the 4x Taiyo-Yuden DVD-R discs in white inkjet printables for people that like that style of printable disc type.
