    Hi People
With being new to the whole dvd thing i wanted to get some advice on a few things, one of them being write speeds.
I've been using dvd shrink for some time now and it rips perfect for me, and the discs i have been using have been bulk paq and they have been billiant, but the last lot of discs i have got have been bulk paq 4x speed, well these have not worked at all, ive been gettiing jumps, freezing, blocking on the discs, but the vobs have been fine, so the first thing i did was slow down the write speed to 4x , but that had little effect. also i've had the same problem with mirror discs.
What i wanted to ask is " Is there a general safe write speed" am i doing something wrong here ?? or is it just that the discs in question are not compatable with my dvd writer. has anyone else had this kind of problem ??.
Also ive defragged hard drive, and done all in my power to sort this out, but to little effect. should i just avoid these discs in future ?? or is there something i can do to sort it ??
Thanks in advance to any help on this matter.

I once bought a 25 spindle of purple 1x Bulkpaq DVD-R's. None of them worked with my Sony DRU 500A (burned ~10 of them with different firmwares, operating systems and different burning apps - every time I got a write error after burning ~ 1 gig to the disc) - Lesson: NEVER buy Bulkpaq again!
