For the last few years I've requested to be omitted from this ******* annual marketing bullshit.
I neither give nor recieve any presents anymore, I only buy for my 21 month old son, three neices (ages 1 to 11) and nephew (aged 4).
Nor do I spend shitloads on Christmas cards and hand them to the guy at the next desk, although I do send a card to the friends I don't often see.
Saying that I love the principle of Christmas, I love being with my family and friends and the excitement of my neices and nephew (and more so now my son, who will be having his first 'real' christmas) but I won't contribute to the madness anymore.

  8. My family has agreed to drop the Xmas gift giving. This was because we all have everything we need which makes it very difficult to find gifts, and we all agreed that we all tend to end up recieving things that mostly end up in the trash can. It's a waste of money and a huge waste of effort so now only the kids get prezzies and the adults just get booze and food for themselves and those who visit on Xmas Day.

Everybody has a good time and the kids get better presents.
