Question. I have some CD-RW's that I use to view SVCD'S on my stand alone DVD player with. When I first bought the discs and burned SVCD'S on them, they played them back with no problems. NOW, sometimes they'll play the SVCD'S back fine, and other times, I'll get freezing, skipping, artifacts, etc on them. Up until now, I've ONLY used Nero's quick erase to erase the discs before re-writing on them. Would I be able to "fix" the discs by giving them a full erase every once in a while? Up until now, I've never bothered using that feature on the discs. I wouldn't mind doing it if it will stop the discs from playing back so crappy after continuous quick erasing on them. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've never used the 'quick' erase with Nero, but I don't erase my CDRW's that much. I would think the full erase would be a lot more reliable. It depends on what the 'quick' erase is doing. These disks do wear out, even though the manufactures says you can erase them 'x' times.

Full erase returns the cdr to a fully "blank" position. Meaning ALL the pits and grooves on the CD are gone. Quick Erase only erases the Table of Contents, thus making the cd seem like its blank. If you have no idea what im talking about, read up on how a CD/R/RW works.
I really do not see where quick erase would cause problems more than full erase. People usually only use Full Erase when there is security issues with the data, otherwise its usually just a waste of time. You could try a full erase, maybe that would fix the disc. Or maybe its time to retire it.
