Can anyone tell me why the audio goes out of sync after I convert it from avi to Mpeg.
I fix all the bad frames and avi plays ok-no audio sync promblems. BUT when I convert it to mpeg with Tmpg sound comes before video. To fix bad frames I use guide 153907"Fixing bad frames without losing any audio"

Welcome to the real world. If it's off by the same amount thru the whole movie, it's easily fixed by adding some audio skew in TMPGEnc, or extracting the audio to wav and adding some silence at the start.
Many believe that an AVI that plays fine using some media player must be OK, but that's not the case. Media Players are very tolerant - encoders are not.

  3. well, you have to use audio decopressor(from avi2vcd software) instead of avi2wav,goldwave or any other software some people recomand here,You'll get a "pcm"file of about 2Gbyte for a 90 min movie.Use this file for both video and audio inputs to Tmpgenc and everything will be OK
