I'm putting together my wedding video right now and I'd like to have an option in the menu that will play all of our wedding music (not from a slideshow or anything, just the music with no picture). Is this possible? I wouldn't think it would take much room.

I'm not sure that standalone players will do this, but you could just create the audio files on a DVD-ROM and play them from your computer.

Yes you can do that but you have to mux your audio with a bmp file (the picture can be black or your wedding) You ends up with an mpg file .Search the forum . I reply to some guy with the same intention

Yeah, I figured I could convert it all over to mpg, but that would take up tons of space. The DVD is already 90% full with video files. I was hoping there would be a way to put audio only files on there that wouldnt take up too much space.

I didn't think about using a menu for this. That's not a bad idea. I think the only problem is that I couldnt place 'track' marks so that I could skip to the next song.Originally Posted by andydd
Is there any way to have a short video track (say 20 seconds) with a long audio track attached to it?
Also, is there any way to set up in a menu to have it random play tracks? -
An MPEG Mux of a single image and the audito should not take up that much space. You can drop the bit rate down to almost nothing if you are planning it to be black.Originally Posted by andydd

Tons of space? You should convert your wav file to ac3 before muxing That will reduced the file size to a miserable few mb. With a menu you can do selectable tracks although not random play

so set up one menu per song, and draw connections so that when menu 1 ends, menu 2 begins with the next song (the image can stay the same, or it could be different images with the song artist & title).Originally Posted by Rogue3
you can also add discreet "forward" & "back" buttons that lead to the next menu/song or back to the last one.- housepig

Thanks for all the info guys. This gives me something to work with. As for converting the music to .ac3, the last time I tried this it didn't work. I followed the guide for besweet but all I got was silence.
The reason I thought it would take a while is because I though even if you had a bmp image as your mpg, it would have to be converted to an mpg that was as long as the audio, making it a 3-4 minute mpg per song. -
Dazzle puts out some software called "on DVD." It is a slide show program that will include an audio track. I'm not sure about price as I got mine bundled with a memory card reader. Check the dazzle website or any of the large internet software sites.

I have a Bach DVD that will allow me to select (from the menu) to shuffle the tracks on the dvd. Any idea how that is done?Originally Posted by Drakng

By the way, I've used the Besweet guide to convert several MP3's over to .ac3 format. The files will play in media player, but when I import them into maestro and try to use them with a still image they do not work. I thought I was doing something incorrect so just to be sure I imported another .ac3 file I had on my HD (from a trailer), and it worked just fine.
Any ideas on this? What am I doing wrong when converting my mp3's? -
Sonic Scenarist has an excellent AC3 converter that is complient with DVDMaestro and I imagine evry thing else. I just converted an MPEG2 file to AC3 and it worked just fine.

Hi,
what tool can mux picture (bmp, jpeg) and an audiofile (wav, mp3) to a compliant dvd mpeg?
Regards

Adobe Encore will allow you to use any type of audio file as an asset. You can just add the audio file and it will just create a title set from it (no video is needed, the screen will just be blank). See my guide:
