    Hi all,

I'm new here, this being my first post and all. I just wanted to post my problem here as I'm not sure which folder it fits into.

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to all this stuff, but can pick up on things if well instructed.

A large percentage of the original music featured in the television series Dawson's Creek was changed in the DVD releases. The original music, is however, still kept in each of the three foreign audio soundtracks.
I am looking to somehow remove the music soundtrack and replace it with the soundtrack featured in the foreign options. Is this possible? I'm afraid that the overdub that is on the foreign soundtracks will not be able to be removed, ultimately meaning that the music soundtrack I want will not be able to be separated.

Any help at all will be GREATLY appreciated! If you need any further info, please let me know, as I will do just about anything for this to happen!

If the music is mixed with voice, than it is next to imposilble to do.

  3. tinker is right, if it's mixed, forget about it.

You have to examine the audio in an audio editor. E.g. some Hollywood movies are done correctly, where the speech is in the center channel (only), and music is L & R, deep bass is LFE, background music is BR & BL , or some variation, etc..

Assuming it is 5.1 audio, you can save the audio track as 6 mono wavs, to examine them more easily (you can do this with eac3to for example), and then mix & match the languages or music channels then recompile your audio (e.g. you might be able to use the track that has the music you want to keep, but replace the language channel). This will only work if the durations are correct & match

If it is a stereo AC3 track, they most likely will be mixed together
