  1. Hello

I've got a problem saving wav in virtualdub. I searched for ideas of help in the FAQ and in this forum but didn't find any help.

The problem is that I've got a file which Sampling rate is 48000 Hz and it has 2 channels (stereo).
I selected the "Full processing mode" under "Audio" and thereafter "Conversion" where I changed the sampling rate into 44100Hz.

When I then wanted to save the wav I got an Error message saying:
"The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format."

    Help appreciated.

    I use VirtualDub 1.4.13

    Thanks.

  2. I'm not sure why VirtualDub is having that problem - but if you're saving the audio out as a wav (presumabley to feed into an encoder), you could do the resampling outside vDub.

BeSweet can be used as a GUI to SSRC, and TMPGEnc can use SSRC as part of its audio engine to do the re-sampling.

SSRC does a good job - but of course GoldWave, CoolEdit, SoundForge can all resample too (and Audacity can in version 1.1 and later - which are betas at the moment I think.)

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

  3. You may need to add current codecs, I had the same problem and this fixed the problem. This site has a list of codecs. Hope this helps.

Test your file using Gspot and get the codec info.

    I like Goldwave, here's a guide.
