Can you save a filter chain so every time you start Virtualdub you can load the same filters in the same order?
I'm capturing a lot of VHS tapes and want to use the resize, Dynamic Noise Reduction and DotcrawlComb filters on all of the tapes ( I think). I'm not sure if those are going to be the ones I use, I'm still learning about and experimenting with filters.

Also what's the best way to preview filters.

Does it make a difference what order you load the filters in?
Do you have to load them in the same order every time to get the same effect?

    Thanks in advance.

Set you're filter chain in virtualdub, and go to "file/save processing settings" and save the settings file where ever you want, and when you need the same filters just load that file using "file/load processing settings".
And yes, the order of filters makes difference.

    Yep.
You want to resize last normally, as that will blur a bit and make cleaning harder.

Similarly any sharpening filters should come after cleaning.

Other than those general rules, experiment.

DotCrawlComb must come before all other filters (especially deinterlacing/IVTC filters).

    Thanks everybody.
Being able to save a chain instead of having to make it from scratch every day helps a lot.
Apparently I've been using the filters in the wrong order.
    I'll change that.
