  1. Hi i currently bought a Pioneer Dv 106 today connected it no problem and the computer detected it. But Nero isnt detecting it how do u get it to detect it. Also what good programs do you use to copy a dvd from a retail shop for a back-up of it.

    Cheers

For the second question - once you have the first sorted :c) - lots of choices:

I like DVD2One and DVDShrink myself.
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts.

Is this a version of Nero you already had, or a new one that came with the DVD burner?

If it's an exisiting version, and was bundled with your CD-burner, it may be limited to functioning only with the CD-burner it came with.

Try going to Recorder->Choose Recorder - is your new DVD-burner listed there?

If it's listed, but with a red ghostbusters sign over it, then your copy of Nero won't work with it as it was bundled with a different burner.

If not, have you tried un-installing Nero, and re-installing it?

    cheers,
    mcdruid.
