    One thing bothers me, no where in the book does it say what format DVD it can record to.

    It does say that it can not copy from commercial protected DVDs to the DV-R drive, but that it can copy most (including protected) DVDs to SVCD,VCD.
    Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

    OK, Meritline is on the ball, they say in large letters NOT A DVD recorder. In which case, I can make the same thing for much less money.

    Old computer, and Pinnacle Bungee device, plus a CDR drive and DVDrom if I want to copy DVDs to CD. Maybe not as elegant as an all in one, but very, very effective! And it looks like this:
