I've got some footage from a haunted house that's pretty dark. Other than the basic brightness controls, is there something I can use to brighten it up and bring out detail? Maybe a VirtualDub plugin or something?

I'm sure Adobe Premiere 6.0 has some great effects as well, and also is Trailware, but it's a lot more complex than Vegas Video.
Vegas has many presets that can save you a lot of time, but you can apply custom effects/filters to your project as well.
I seriously don't know what I would do without it -
