  1. Ok here is the story.

I converted a DivX to 2 SVCDs using TMPGEnc. They were converted using CBR set at 2050 I believe. The CDs play fine on my computer's DVD player but on my Panasonic DVD player the video appears to play one frame at a time. If I set it on fast forward, it seems to almost play normally.... but this isn't right.

Any ideas why it is playing so strangely on the DVD player but fine on my computer? Also, if someone could explain to me what the difference between CBR and VBR is for picture quality. What do most people use?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Thanks for the help!

Another question though. If a DVD player is said to not support SVCD format, then why does the picture show up when the SVCD is played.... albeit terrible?

    Again... thanx!
