  1. I burn my movies just fine with Nero 6.1, but why cant i play them on my DVD player. If i place the DVD into my dvd-rw it will play throught WMP. When i go to put in my 2 dvd players I get the message "cannot play disk" or "There is no disk".

    I thought nero would allow the disc to be played in any player. Is there anything i have to do to the disk for it to work. The files I burn are AVI files, I see a lot of people talking about TMPGEnc, would this help me in this situation. If so can you tell me how and what i need to do. My dvd player is a RCA model RC5230z (it also has divx on the front), and the other is a sony DAV s300.

    any help

    Thanks

    Nice.............

  2. I don't think any DVD player is going to play an AVI file. The files have to be converted to DVD compliant mpeg2. If you're new to all this I suggest you invest in neoDVD Plus then work up to the more complicated programs. You can check out NeoDVD here. http://www.mediostream.com/neodvd/index.html

    @nice24,

    BUT i highly doubt your players support Divx.... this means you have to do what Bob W sez and convert your MPEG-4 Divx to DVD compliant MPEG-2.

    did you author your DVD??? you can't simply burn the .mpg file as a DATA DVD....you need to author the .mpg file to a DVD VIDEO.

  6. Oh so I have to add menus and chapters for it to really work. Just having the movie and then converting it....isnt enough.

    OK..so if thats right I'm doing ok cause, I have DVDLAB it works nice still trying to work some things out.... there. But I see what it can do, I got held up cause I have a 20gb HD and alot of large movie file so when I tried to compile my fiirst movie HD space got lower from all the work. so, I'm deleteing some partials and just gonna go with my whole movies.

    so I am I on the right track
