I am working on a DVD project that comprised of still images and various effects, but for added interest, i want to add some life like motion scenes into the mix, like some waterfalls, fountains, waving grass or trees.
I've forked out enough money for my PC, DVD Burner, digital camere etc and I don't want to have to buy a video camera so I am sure you can rent one from a local store for a couple days. My question is, what is a good one to get with nice high resolution, film comparable quality that I dont need a truck to cart around? Should I go with something HI-8? I want something that goes directly to a digital file and not tape.
Thanks in advance.

I would go for the Cannon GL2. It's got 3 ccd's, and takes great DV-video.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
