OK. I film stuff with my Panasonic dv103 miniDV cam. I enable EIS (electronic image stabilization) when i film. When I hook up my firewire and capture my AVI the EIS does not carry over. I used both Microsoft moviemaker and sonic my dvd to capture the video and neither one will carry over the EIS.
Its funny, when capturing, i look at the LCD on the cam and it looks stable, however, the capture screen on the computer is all shaky.
anyone have any ideas.
PS aside from my unsteady hand the quality looks great when i capture as an avi and then convert to mpeg with tmpeg...

You are probably just seeing the interlacing effects of the video on your computer screen and its not really shaky video. Deinterlace it with VirtualDub using interpolate fields and then check it out.
If it is actually is shaky video, then there is actually a image stabilization filter in Virtual Dub that you can apply to see if it helps any. I have never used it.
