  1. I have an Ati all in wonder radeon. I want to record some of my videos to my hard drive. I have played around with some settings on the Ati media centre and by using virtual dub. But I just can’t seem to get a good mix between size and quality (oh and my video tapes are pal I live in Ireland). I want to record them with a divx codec as I have downloaded some video clips that have been divx and the quality and size were good. Could anyone give me some settings as I am new to this and could use some help.
    Thanks in advance

  2. Just wondering if you have managed to capture video through the AIW card without the Macrovision signal kicking in and ruining the recording? So far I haven't (and this is on tapes without macrovision encoding!!). Incidently, I live "north of the border" in Ulster.

  3. I use an older ATI AIW version. Capture also with Virtual Dub. As I expirienced with the AIW 128 Pro, there are a few ATI settings that influenced the Virtual Dub capture. BUt not all settings are of influence. Par exemple the MPeg audio settings are essential (for my 128!! AIW). The principle is simple:
Set your ATI card. Close it!

Open virtual dub and capture (for PAL) at 352*288 for a VCD and 480*576 for SVCD. The "compression" (video option in Viryual dub ) is also very essential. I use the HUFFYUV v2.1.1 to do this. It's realy good. MAybe you have to follow the procedure in VCDhelp step by step.
Contact me if you have problems. Maybe I can give some ATI settings.
