    I have the drive on a 1394 enclousre but somehow I am getting the drive to hang like 90% after writing.... the BIOS is 1.0... could that be the issue

    1. If you are using Windows98 and Alcohol 120% it is normal when burning a DVD. Its a bug.

    2. It could be you have cheap/bad media. It wont write the last tracks
