    Ok, I have the TMPGEnc program. BUT from what I can tell it only converts AVI. and MOV. (with the added thingy). IS there anyway to convert just plain old mpegs. to mpeg 1? I have mpegs and everytime I try to convert it to mpeg 1 it says something about it being an invalid file. So I thought it was already converted...but when I tried to burn it would not work, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP????...

    when you pick your source file you have the option to select mpeg files as a file type.

    try using the MPEGproperties prog in the tools section to your left. It will give you properties such as bitrate, screen size, and fps, etc.
