Run through a forum search. I saw this discussed a while back but I don't remember what the outcome was....

  3. I tried making SVCD with AC3 (Dolby sound format) and it didn't work. The player will look for a mpeg audio file and will ignore the the AC3 file, leaving you with no audio playback.

It's easy enough to experiment on your own. Mux the M2v and AC3 files into a system Mpeg with BBMpeg and then use this to author a VCD in VCDEasy. It will tell you that the file is non-compliant but you can tell it to use it anyway.

  4. Well..The answer is no..VCD's dont support Dolby Digital. You can in theory make one but i doubt your DVD player will play it. SVCD's support the mpeg 5.1 surround format i do believe but its a bit of wierd format n not easy to make.

Yep, I just tried the other day. Made an ac3 track and it would not play any audio.
